What's gray, brown, pink, white and black? Baby season at Primarily Possums!

Buns
Bun.
More buns.
This week’s blog will be a small photo dump with a little update.
24 animals have come into care this last week- all opossums and cottontail rabbits.
Here are a few of the new faces.
Receiving comfort.
Thank you Susan Harris and Anita Bell, for the new nests!
Cool button closure! So crafty!
Excellent acrobatic sleeping.
Heads or tails!
This is a sweet little one.

There’s a whole lot of sleeping going on.

I put this one in my shirt pocket and actually forgot about him until my counting of babies was not adding up!
Peeking out of the purple strawberry.
Eyes still closed.
Thank you Maggie Haden for the great photos!
If you recognize this shirt, it's because I wore it 5 days in a row.
Sometimes you have to get creative when storing opossums!

Intakes number 95 and 96 were two poor little opossums who were orphaned when their Mom was hit by a car. They lost all their other siblings. Please drive with an eye on the fog line, looking for friends and glowing eyes. All the opossums I've received are orphans, and it makes me so sad. That's it for this week! 96 animals in a little over two months, when last year was a total of 300! More wildlife rehabilitators are needed. Nikki Hughes, of Camp Critter in Oglethorpe county and I serve a huge area of Northeast Georgia. We can't help them all. Please consider volunteering or becoming a rehabilitator yourself!
