Baby season 2025 has begun!

To be very clear, I am "not rehabbing" this year. Now please look at what I have "not rehabbed".

No bunnies, I said. No bunnies! But this one just needed antibiotics after a cat attack. He was easy and spent his week here eating, and pooping, like all good bunnies do.
These 5 little sweeties came in after their Mama died in an Athens backyard. Judging from her injuries, she was attacked by a dog in another location, but got to a place of safety for her babies.
She was a very good and healthy Mama and raised 5 beautiful babies. I am sad she is gone and cannot watch them with pride as they grow.
They have gone to one of the new local rehabbers and are doing great!
This sad little boy was the only survivor after his Mama and siblings were hit by a car.
Tired and dirty, after a little bath he climbed right into the fleece nest.
He has perked up some, although I am unsure if he sustained injuries. He is drinking eagerly, though. It's ok if he sleeps a lot.

As we move into spring I will continue "not rehabbing" and focus on training and supporting 3 newly licensed wildlife rehabbers and refresh the knowledge I lost track of while doing what I call "volume rehabbing". In an attempt to meet the public's needs as well as the babies themselves, I lost sight of what mattered the most- doing the best job I can, and taking care of myself. I'm excited to work with Maggie, Scarlet and Josalyn as they begin their journeys! Thank you for following along with all of us.
