It's opossum season! All day, every day, nothing but opossums. All the bunnies have been released or are near ready to go. Now I have 41 opossums. This means I won't be able to take in anything else until mid May. But the 41 will get the best care possible! Meet the temporary residents in this post.
The last intake and an overview
Kylie, not yet pictured, is in with the very shy Landfill Boys, and is intake number 111 so far this year. The rehab room is remarkably quiet for having so many bodies in it- just how I like it. They are either sleeping soundly or eating quietly. The Loma 6 now have wheels to run on, but they too are silent spinners. It’s a good environment to be in when your mind is running 100 miles a minute trying to keep the feedings straight!
About me!
I still find time for self care, and outside time. Soon we will get the outside cages ready for the second phase. The nights are still too cold and life too scary outside. I raise well adjusted, happy babies. I am proud of them and what I do.
The volunteers!
Volunteers Dawn, Sydney and Rich make this all easier. Thank you Maggie Haden, for coming out and staying up really late learning the ropes! And thank you supporters. You make all this possible with your donations.
