The daffodils may be up and the birds returning, but it’s still quiet here at Primarily ‘Possums
Which I am totally ok with!
This is my biggest incubator, still empty but ready for the bunnies and opossums who will soon start coming in.
My incubators are from Baby Warm, one of the groups I partner with, and are group funded by people like you. Learn more about them by clicking their logo
Little Sweet Pea, the juvenile female opossum who was hit by a car, is doing a lot better and has a healthy appetite! I am still searching for the right set of medications to deal with her traumatic brain injury. Her spirits are high and she does enjoy exploring and a cuddle here and there.
Miss Fox is feeling better and eating well, too! She enjoys cat crunchies, some vegetables and a little fruit, and mice…mmm…mice! She was found in a suburban neighborhood with minor injuries. Her behavior was that of either a very sick fox or a tame one. I’ve been able to rule out rabies, so now I’m checking her for other illnesses she may have acquired that could cause her to act tame. If she doesn’t “wild up”, she will be placed in an educational venue like a nature center or zoo.
I’ve updated some bits on the Resources for Kids page including a link to directions to make knitted or crocheted nests for baby birds or mammals.
There are a whole bunch of story times there, too.
I’ve included some video placeholders for Gina Gallois’s books as I’m working on producing story time videos for them.
