I spoke too soon about Tina and Berry starting their jobs at Chattahoochee Nature Center, but they are still hired. The past 2 weeks have been chock full of news, so read on!

I transferred the 4 sweet squirrels to a rehabber who had squirrels and was set up to house and entertain them all.
They are adjusting well and enjoying a new and interesting life.
Leaves, baskets and hammocks make life fun.
While I enjoyed reaising Chip, Chup, Lolly and Dolly, I know they are safe and happy and I will get updates.
Squirrel hugs are sweet ones.
They enjoyed all the treats and toys purchased from their wishlist, and those items traveled along with them.
Tina and Berry stay active and curious with enrichment items like snuffle mats.
This is how Tina likes to be held.
I took who I thought was Tina and Berry to Chattahoochee Nature Center, but it turned out Tina got accidentally left behind. Berry returned home to stay with her best friend. I will still be bringing BOTH of them back. While I was there I visited with Peanut, a former rehab friend.
I got a photo of the elusive Petunia! She is finally eating more than ham baby food.
Cooter moved outside into a big enclosure. He loves his nest box and running wheel.
I see you! Joey is a new friend, who is unsociable and wily. She loves her wheel, too.
Meanwhile, at my friend Laura's house, one of her porch 'possums has discovered the cushy life in a pet bed.
Although I left the 4 squirrels with Neely, I brought home 5 huge opossums to overwinter outside. The faces! I just love opossums.
They are all round and friendly.
They quickly found the best sleeping spots. There are 2 snuggling under this hollow log.
The Precious Possum Pentad, look how they have grown! They climb...
they clean...
...and they pose. So sleek and healthy now!
If you look closely, you can see Petunia in her purse bed, not too pleased about the babies. (They are kept separate, this was a little visit)
Their ears, well, they are still growing into them.

There is a very cute short video of them drinking milk.  You can find it, and other videos, here: The channel is called Winilula

Little dove

A dear little Mourning dove nestling came in and was here for a few days while we waited on transport to Wild Nest Bird Rehab. I maintain my USFWS migratory bird permit so birds can safely and legally come to me.  However, I’m not fully set up for birds, so they end up at Wild Nest.  You can learn more about them here. Wild Nest Bird Rehab.

This winter and donation request

It’s just not slowing down here. I don’t remember the last time I had so many overwintering animals. 15 opossums! The grocery bills will be high as I feed a varied and balanced diet. Tonight was sardines, bok choy ( a favorite!), pear, cauliflower and an orange segment. If you are able, I would appreciate help in the grocery department. If you’d like to buy a gift card, my local store is Ingles.

Gift cards and Community Rewards

You can check out Ingles here: Ingles.

There is a Kroger nearby, too. One neat thing about Kroger is a program where a percentage of every sale made by people signed up goes towards Primarily ‘Possums.

Information about Kroger Community Rewards- anyone can sign up, not just locals, and it’s free for you! can be found here: Kroger Community Rewards

Other ways to donate

Primarily ‘Possums has a PayPal and a Venmo account.  There is even a Patreon, which makes regular donating easy.

I try not to ask for donations unless I have a real need.  This winter is going to be a long one with a lot of meals to make.

The awesome volunteers

Thank you to my volunteers Rich, Dawn, Sydney, Muaj, Maggie and Krista for always having my back and being willing to pitch in regardless of the task.

And thank you,  to you, for reading!
