First round slowing down

The last 6 weeks have been a blur. Here's some photos!

Some of the babies had a special time at fellow rehabber Krista’s house

Visitng with a sheep!

Krista de Vries takes the best photos!

Peeking!

A lot of releases took place.

I would like to leave, please.

The soft release cages are going well, much to my relief.  Thank you, Snyder, McGuire, and Haden Families!

Too hot for being demure.  Snoozing is where it’s at!

Temporary residents, 7 little ones.
Temporary Mourning dove fledgling. Found in the street, after a nice meal, he went back to where he was found and flew off.
Nice little Red bat who was here for too short a time. He was caught by a cat and the infection moved faster than I could treat with antibiotics.
Molly's babies are growing- perhaps too big for her pouch! She is healed from her terrible wounds. I'm going to keep her (in a nice outdoor enclosure) until her babies are big enough for me to raise, if one falls out.

Eloise is doing ok, but only ok.  She was found hanging tangled up in a fence.  She was emaciated, flea-ridden, and terribly wounded.  Her wounds have been cleaned up and she’s received two surgeries.  I clean and bandage her wounds daily.  But she may not be able to lift her foot and toes.  That means she can’t walk or climb.  She wouldn’t be releasable.  She’s a wild animal, captivity would be unhappy and stressful.  We have another vet visit tomorrow.

I am finally catching my breath here at Primarily Possums. The Dudleys and the Rubies still have to be released. They are all adapting to outside life and their food is no longer served on plates, but hidden around the enclosure. Thanks for reading and watching the events unfold!
